Celebrate the season with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, conductor-composer Sir James MacMillan and the Choir of Trinity College Melbourne. The program spans MacMillan’s co-commissioned Christmas Oratorio and O radiant dawn, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Respighi’s Botticelli Triptych, Berlioz’s L’adieu des bergers and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah, bringing together ancient traditions and modern festive music.
Performances are Thursday 26 November 2026 at 7:30pm and Saturday 28 November 2026 at 2:00pm at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne. Each concert runs for approximately 2 hours, including a 20-minute interval. Pre-concert talks begin at 6:45pm on Thursday and 1:15pm on Saturday in the Hamer Hall Stalls Foyer. The program is suited to general audiences and families.
Child tickets for under-18s are $20, Mob Tix are $25 for eligible First Nations patrons, concession tickets are $70–$134 and standard tickets are $75–$139. An $8 transaction fee applies per order.
