Brahms' German Requiem

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Brahms Festival culminates in the 2026 Spring Gala, led by Chief Conductor Jaime Martín. Sir Bryn Terfel opens with spiritual works by Grace Williams, traditional and other composers before the MSO, Alexandra Flood, Terfel and the MSO Chorus perform Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem—an intensely humanist work of grief, remembrance, gratitude and comfort. Performances are Thursday 19 November and Saturday 21 November 2026 at 7:30pm at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne. Each concert runs for approximately 2 hours, including a 20-minute interval. The program is intended for general classical and choral audiences; its themes include bereavement and consolation. Standard tickets are $81–$139 and concession tickets are $76–$134, with an $8 transaction fee per order. Book through the official MSO ticket link.
