Chorus in a Day brings community choristers together with members of the MSO Chorus for an evening of French sacred choral music at Hamer Hall. Principal Guest Conductor Benjamin Northey leads Fauré’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean-Racine alongside Franck’s Panis Angelicus in John Rutter’s arrangement.
The performance features community singers side by side with the MSO Chorus, Warren Trevelyan-Jones as chorus director, soprano Mia Chenea Robinson and Melba Opera Trust baritone Lachlan Higgins. It is intended for choral-music lovers, friends and families of participants, classical audiences and newcomers drawn to the calm, consoling character of Fauré’s Requiem. Applications to sing have closed, but audience tickets remain available.
The concert is on Saturday 22 August 2026 at 7:30pm at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne, 100 St Kilda Road, Southbank VIC 3006. The official event page does not publish a running time; patrons should check the booking page or contact the MSO when planning travel.
Regular one-reserve audience tickets are $29. Eligible first-time MSO audiences can access $20 First Look Seats while available. An $8 transaction fee applies per regular order. Book through the official MSO ticket page.
Hamer Hall is wheelchair, walker and mobility-scooter accessible. Assistive listening devices are available and service animals are welcome. Contact the MSO or Arts Centre Melbourne before booking if you require a wheelchair space or other access assistance.
