Duruflé's Requiem

Experience Maurice Duruflé's ethereal Requiem in Melbourne Town Hall during the 2026 Grand Organ Festival. Warren Trevelyan-Jones conducts the MSO Chorus and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Chorus, with mezzo-soprano Sally-Anne Russell, baritone Simon Meadows and organist Joseph Nolan performing on the Town Hall's monumental four-storey-high organ. The program pairs Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine with Duruflé's Quatre Motets sur des thèmes grégoriens and Requiem, tracing music inspired by historic hymns, Gregorian chant and medieval melody. It is designed for choral, organ and classical-music audiences. The concert begins at 7:30pm on Friday 4 September 2026 at Melbourne Town Hall, 90–130 Swanston Street, Melbourne, and runs approximately 1 hour 10 minutes without interval.
