Library Up Late x Now or Never

Library Up Late x Now or Never transforms State Library Victoria into an after-dark program of live music, installations, interactive art, exhibitions, DJ sets and communal reading. In the La Trobe Reading Room, guzheng master Mindy Meng Wang and electronic musician Tim Shiel perform live. Artist-scientist Yoyo Munk activates the Library's oral-history collection through sound; PULSE_ by Misklectic, Harry J. Dee and Luca Bade turns human emotions into audio-visual visions; and Haus of Ralph and House Mum lead a DJ set. Visitors can also preview a climate-futures project by Library Fellows Vei Tan and Patrick Macasaet, explore exhibitions after hours, or bring a book to the ambient Book Doof reading space. Presented by State Library Victoria with Now or Never, the event runs from 7:30pm to 10:30pm on Friday 21 August 2026 at State Library Victoria, 328 Swanston Street, Melbourne. Bookings are required through the official Library event page. Current admission is $27 for First Nations attendees, $32 for State Library members and concession holders, and $39 general admission, excluding any booking fees.
