Award-winning British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason leads a live masterclass focused on musical interpretation, performance craft and the practical insights that shape work at the highest level. A graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Music and its first Menuhin Visiting Professor of Performance Mentoring, Kanneh-Mason is known for making classical music accessible in settings ranging from schools to major international concert halls.
The session offers participating cellists the opportunity to learn directly from Kanneh-Mason while audiences observe the teaching process. It is designed for aspiring cellists, music students, teachers, performers and classical-music lovers interested in how an acclaimed artist develops technique, expression and communication.
The masterclass takes place on Tuesday 4 August 2026 at 6:30pm at Iwaki Auditorium, ABC Southbank Centre, 120–130 Southbank Boulevard, Southbank VIC 3006. The event runs for approximately 90 minutes with no interval. A TarraWarra Estate pop-up wine bar opens from 6:00pm until the start of the session.
