Mayor’s Reading Challenge 2026 – Frankston City Libraries
Ready for a month of stories, imagination and bookish rewards? 📚✨
Frankston City Libraries invites children aged 0–8 and their families to join the 2026 Mayor’s Reading Challenge throughout August. The challenge is flexible, completely free and designed to make sharing books feel exciting—whether your little reader loves bedtime stories, funny picture books or discovering something new at the library. 👶📖
How to take part:
📝 Pick up a Reading Record from a participating Frankston City Libraries branch
📚 Read and enjoy books together throughout August
✅ Record your family’s reading progress
🎁 Return the completed record to receive a special completion pack
🏆 Go into the major prize draw for book hampers and other literary goodies
The published completion pack includes a bag, a book and a certificate signed by the Mayor—an extra-special reward for every young participant who completes the challenge. 🎒🌟
The challenge runs until 31 August 2026 during participating library opening hours. Because hours vary by branch, no single daily time is displayed; check the official page and your chosen library’s hours before visiting. It’s a wonderful way to build reading confidence, create family routines and make every story count! 💛
