Mini Me Makers: 1970s Style Workshop for Children

Create a groovy 1970s-inspired “mini me” bursting with colour and personality! 🕺🎨 In this playful hands-on workshop, artist and teacher Yasmin Gaté née del Mar invites children to use drawing, collage and mixed materials to design a small character dressed in their dream retro outfit. Think flared pants, bright vests, graphic prints and plenty of fabulous personal style! ✂️🌈 Young makers will: 👗 Explore the shapes and colours of 1970s fashion ✏️ Draw and plan their own mini character 🧵 Combine collage and mixed materials 🎨 Experiment with prints, patterns and bold details 🖼️ Add their finished creation to a vibrant collaborative gallery display The session introduces basic fashion-design ideas while encouraging imagination, colour choices and self-expression. Suitable for children aged 6–10, with a parent or carer required to remain throughout. Two separate workshop dates are available—Sunday 8 November and Sunday 22 November 2026, both from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The date range above represents these two sessions only; the workshop does not run on the days in between. Tickets are $7, all materials are supplied and bookings are required.
