NGV Teens: Art Party is a supervised, teen-exclusive evening that gives secondary school students aged 12 to 18 the Gallery to themselves for art, music, dance, live performance and hands-on creative activities in a safe and welcoming setting.
The 2026 program includes a live performance by singer, songwriter and producer Ivoris; pop and dance DJ sets from Claire Knight; Beats and Ballads karaoke; Quiz Whiz trivia with Marawa; badge making; prizes; and after-hours access to the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition CARTIER. Teens can also explore Ragnar Kjartansson: Mercy and Children’s Play, meet friends and take a break in a dedicated lower-sensory space with dimmed lighting, seating and sensory aids.
The event runs from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday 1 August 2026 at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. It is exclusively for high-school students aged 12–18, who must present a valid school ID, Victorian Student Pass or proof of age. The event is supervised by trained NGV staff, security and first-aid providers. Parents and carers are encouraged to drop teens off; those who need to remain will be directed to a separate lounge.
Student tickets are $28, with discounted $25 tickets available to NGV Members. Food and non-alcoholic drinks, including vegan, vegetarian and low-gluten options, can be purchased, and free water stations are provided. This is a strictly alcohol- and drug-free event. Tickets must be booked through the official NGV booking page and shown on a phone or printed at entry. Doors open at the Waterwall entrance; there is no re-entry after leaving. For access planning, the official event page links to an Event Access Guide. For enquiries, contact NGV on 03 8620 2222 between 9am and 5pm daily.
