See the next generation of percussionists compete in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's Snare Drum Award. Established by MSO percussionist Robert Cossom in 2004, the award encourages excellence in snare drum performance across Australia and New Zealand and gives audiences a close look at emerging musical talent.
The event takes place at 6:30pm on Monday 17 August 2026 at Iwaki Auditorium, ABC Southbank Centre, 120–130 Southbank Boulevard, Southbank. General admission tickets are $15, excluding the MSO's $8 transaction fee per order, and booking is available through the official MSO ticketing page.
The program is suitable for music students, percussion enthusiasts and general audiences interested in elite performance and competition. Iwaki Auditorium is wheelchair, walker and scooter accessible, assistive listening devices are available, and service animals are welcome.
