Calling all curious young builders, inventors and problem-solvers! 🔧🧠
Mornington Library’s Engineering Lab turns Thursday afternoons into a hands-on design adventure for children aged 6 and over. Each week brings a fresh challenge, a limited collection of materials and a ticking clock—giving participants the chance to imagine, design, build, test and improve their creations using the Design Thinking Process. 🚀🏗️
Young engineers will get to:
💡 Dream up creative solutions to a new weekly challenge
🛠️ Build and test inventions using a selection of materials
🔄 Learn how to improve a design when the first idea does not work
🤝 Grow teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
🌟 Discover that mistakes are an important part of making something brilliant
It’s a playful, practical way to strengthen engineering skills, creativity and confidence in a welcoming library environment. A parent or carer must remain with their child during the session, but the supervising adult does not need a ticket.
Sessions run from 4:00pm to 4:45pm on Thursdays from 20 August to 17 September 2026. Entry is free, but a separate booking is essential for every week you wish to attend. Places are limited, so book ahead through the official event page! 🎟️✨
