STEM Holiday Workshop for Young People: Auslan and English

Young makers can turn everyday objects into playful technology at this free, hands-on school holiday workshop at Science Gallery Melbourne. Using Makey Makey tactile circuits and Microsoft MakeCode Arcade, participants will experiment, problem-solve and build an interactive video game in a welcoming bilingual Auslan-and-English environment. The workshop runs from 12pm to 2pm on Thursday 1 October 2026 and is designed for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing young people aged 10 to 17, with hearing siblings and CODAs also welcome. A parent or carer must complete consent at drop-off and remain nearby. Bookings are essential. The venue provides accessible toilets, mobility access, assisted listening, Auslan interpretation, quiet spaces and access for service animals.
