This Quick Fix concert pairs an accessible 15–20 minute introduction to Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 with a complete live performance by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. MSO Cybec Assistant Conductor Daniel Corvaia presents the musical ideas before Chief Conductor Jaime Martín leads the orchestra through a work that moves from its recurring “fate” theme to moments of brightness, grace and triumph over adversity.
The concise format is suited to experienced classical audiences, newcomers, secondary-school groups and anyone wanting context before hearing a major symphony. Schools can also attend through the Meet the Music series. Patrons may arrive early for the MSO’s 2027 Season announcement at 6:10pm and collect a season brochure.
The concert is on Monday 10 August 2026 at 6:30pm at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne, 100 St Kilda Road, Southbank VIC 3006. It runs for 75 minutes with no interval and is selling fast.
Tickets: Standard $73–$99; Concession $68–$94; Child under 18 $20; Mob Tix $25. An $8 transaction fee applies per order. Book through the official MSO ticket page.
